Intern: Sales Development Representative

GrayMatter Robotics is a well-capitalized and rapidly accelerating robotics/AI startup located in Downtown Los Angeles. We are developing brains for robots to transform them into smart assistants for helping humans in tedious and ergonomically challenging tasks. The robot brain comprises machine learning, motion planning, computer vision, and control algorithms. We use the robot brain to power application-specific software for automating surface treatment applications such as sanding, polishing, buffing, and spraying. You will be part of an energetic and cross-functional team dedicated to developing robotic solutions for complex and challenging problems for existing and new markets. This is a full-time position where you will be working with a dedicated team of professionals in a fast-paced, innovative, and collaborative environment.

Position Summary

The Sales Development Representative will create and qualify new revenue-generating opportunities with prospective customers, and will often be the first point of contact for the manufacturers who are looking for automation solution for surface treatment applications such as sanding, polishing, buffing, grinding, deburring, and spraying.

Experience and established relationships with potential customer organizations is a nice-to-have for this role but not required.

Responsibilities
  • Manage initial engagement with inbound sales leads
  • Generate new outbound sales leads through a variety of methods, including cold-calling, social media networking, account expansion tactics, and others
  • Present company, product, and technology overview to prospective customers
  • Complete initial qualification of new sales opportunities
  • Maintain company CRM data quality and integrity
  • Maintain basic lead/opportunity tracking and reporting
Skills / Qualifications
  • Ability to analyze the market, collect customer input, and build a business case.
  • Clear understanding of value propositions, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), and Return on Investment (ROI).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including technical proposals and presentations.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Teamwork attitude and a cooperative style.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced and dynamic startup environment where initiative and flexibility are required for success.
